Sherlock Holmes got it all wrong...

I love the Sherlock Holmes stories...as many are unaware, Holmes in literature was an expert boxer, swordsman and singlestick (cane) user. In one story, The Adventure of the Solitarty Cyclist,he uses his skills to fight a ruffian in a pub. I love how the late Jeremy Brett portrays Holmes' boxing skill, dancing around rolling his fists like the cowardly lion in The Wizard of Oz. Holmes says, "This is how a gentleman fights, and I, sir, am a gentleman..." as he sticks to boxing clean and shifting around with bedazzling footwork.

I love watching that one...but I'd have done things a bit differently.

I'd have closed the gap, kicked this drunk piece of shit in the shin, hit him in the throat with the webbing of my hand, and poked him in his eyes....
but hey, that's just me.

I trust you would value getting the hell out of somewhere with all of your fi ngers and toes more than adhering to "gentlemanly rules" of combat...

Check out www.whitecollarwarrior.com for a nice little bundle of joy you can keep in the back pocket of your brain and can pull out whenever you need to-moves that require no special skill, training or physical attributes, other than a pulse and a desire to not be dead...I think I can handle that.

Til next time,

Remember...there is no need to be the most righteous man (or woman) in the boneyard.

Be safe!

Bobby
