It's easy to work on self defense and training when you're in the mood to do so. However...my guess is that if some thug is going to attack me he will do so when I'm not pumped up and in the mindset to throw down and kick ass. It will probably be when I'm walking to my car with groceries in both hands, fumbling for my keys,trying to get in the car before I drop something. Or it will likely be when I'm walking out of a restaurant with a full belly and fighting the insulin spike that makes me want to burrow into my couch and watch Golden Girls re-runs. Get the picture?
By keeping your self defense tactics simple, effective and practical, you can call on them when you need them-whenever that may be. By training when you do not want to or don't "feel like it," you can train the part of your mind that says "I don't want to train because everything isn't perfectly in place to do so." Tough! If sh*t happens, the time will never be "perfect." It will be "as is." Borrow the desire to shrug off training as an opportunity to train not only your body but your mind as well.
Train your mind by getting up and doing anything you may have been putting off NOW.
